Our goal is to showcase the realities of conservation and highlight the people & organizations doing the real work on the ground

Our Why

Conservation.

Conservation has always been an uphill battle, but with limited resources, climate change rendering land unlivable, and the loss of thousands of jobs due to COVID-19, conservationists are having the fight of their lives trying to protect wildlife. Snares are becoming more common as people are trying to survive and feed their own families. One species’ battle for survival is endangering the lives of the other thousands of animals from diverse species. The demand for rhino horn continues to rise, further intensifying the threat of extinction for this majestic creature. With fewer employment opportunities available, the situation becomes even more dire as poaching becomes one of the few financially lucrative options for people. Wildlife, driven by the scarcity of land, water, and food, is increasingly encroaching upon human-populated areas. Consequently, the incidents of wildlife-human conflict are on the rise, resulting in the loss of more wildlife lives and worsening tensions between communities and wildlife.

There are several types of conservation groups, each dedicated to preserving the vitality of our land and its animals to ensure that we have thriving ecosystems. Some organizations are helping the lives of those in communities surrounding wild areas, while others bravely put their lives on the line to combat poaching. Additionally, there are those who specialize in rescuing and providing medical care to wildlife. Each group plays a crucial role in safeguarding the planet's wildlife and wildlands. Unfortunately, most people don’t understand the immense efforts and dedication required for conservation work worldwide. The extent of the work undertaken by these groups is often overlooked or underestimated.

About Us

Kendra Carano - Director / Producer

I’m an Animal Conservationist and Nature Documentarian. After graduating from Dodge College with a Bachelor’s Degree in film production I dove head first into working on major Hollywood films while spending my free time traveling to countries all over Africa working with different wildlife conservation groups. Soon I quit Hollywood and committed full time to my true passion of animal conservation work taking up jobs for Wildlife Act, EHRA, Elephants Alive and David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. With these groups I would film and take photos for social media, fundraisers and websites. I made many short films for each group I worked with but just finished a full documentary I filmed in South Africa in 2021. My goal for this docu series is to bring necessary truths to light about the animal conservation industry.

Kayla Zoon - 1st AD

I’m a South African Conservation Biologist and Wildlife Photographer. I have a masters in Conservation Ecology, am a qualified field guide and have worked in conservation for over seven years. During my time as a field researcher, I was directly involved in conservation on the ground, from collaring elephants to tracking black rhino on foot. This has provided me with first hand insight into conservation operations and the challenges organisations face. Over the years, I have worked worked with organisations such as GCC, Elephants Alive, Rhino Revolution, United for Wildlife and Earthwatch. I have a passion for social media, wildlife research and science communication and now dedicate my time to educating people about african wildlife and conservation through media.
